With Rear Irons they can obscure the dot in the small area they protrude into the window while with Forward Irons the dot will superimpose over them. WebI like the irons better. The Vortex Razor HD Gen III 6-36x56 optic was too heavy on my Glock 23. And finding a carry holster to fit it was nearly impossible. Went back to the out-of-the-box sights as a result. I still run irons on my carry guns. I see the advantage of optics in competition and hunting scenarios.
WebSep 12, 2024 · At longer ranges, I use Irons much better than an NON MAGNIFIED optic. I think the best way to think about it is 'can you hit a 12" pie plate'. At 100 yards, speed is clearly with the dot.
